Error Code Video
Error Code: E1

Top Cover Open

How to fix this error:

  • The top cover has been opened; close and secure the top cover and press STOP/RESET to clear the error.
  • The top cover is not closed properly; close the cover and make sure the cover screw is tight. (You will need a screwdriver.) Press STOP/RESET to clear the error.

MPE1 error is a cover open error – this usually happens when you open the cover to replace a bad belt or blade, once the cover is closed and secured press the red reset button to clear the error. If the problem persists call 1-888-646-4757 and one of our MINI PAK'R trained technical support specialist will help you fix the machine or arrange to have the machine returned to our repair facility for repair.

Error Code: E2

Jam or end of roll detected

How to fix this error:

  • There is no film roll loaded onto the machine. Load a new roll of film. Press STOP/RESET. Try to run the machine again.
  • The film has not been properly loaded onto the air tube. Reload film.
  • Tear the film at a perforation before it slides onto the air tube. Pull the torn film out of the front of the machine. Reload the film onto the air tube per the instructions in the User Manual. Press STOP/RESET. Try to run the machine again.
  • You have reached the end of the roll. Remove the extra film from the machine. Reload a new roll of film. Press STOP/RESET. Operate the machine normally.

Another cause for an E2 error is over inflation of the film – especially with Super Tube, but can happen with any of the square bag products. When the film is over inflated it creates a lot of drag – the Mandrel (the gray round thing you put the film on) and film turn very slowly tricking the machine into thinking it is out of film. Use the “- “button control on the machine in the center to lower the air pressure to the point where the machine can pull the film through at it’s normal 25 feet per minute rate. If you continue to have problems call 1-888-646-4757 and one of our MINI PAK'R trained technical support specialist will help you fix the machine or arrange to have the machine returned to our repair facility for repair.

Error Code: E3

Seal Temperature too high

How to fix this error:

Press STOP/RESET. Wait for a RDY display. Operate the machine normally. If the problem persists, the machine will need to be returned to FPI for service.

There are 3 error codes associated with the MINI PAK'R heater, E3, E4, E5 in all three cases the error code may be caused by the RFID tag in the film – always try a different roll of film first when troubleshooting, and AC power problems – the machine should be the only thing plugged into the wall, and should not be on an extension cord – if you are experiencing any of these errors move the machine next to the wall socket and plug in and see if that solves your issue – if it does not you will need to call 1-888-646-4757 and one of our MINI PAK'R trained technical support specialist will help you fix the machine or arrange to have the machine returned to our repair facility for repair.

– MP Tech Support

Error Code: E4

Seal Temperature too low

Error Code: E5

Seal bar heating to slow

How to fix this error:

  • Try plugging into a different AC power outlet.
  • If the problem persists, please call 1-888-MINIPKR (1-888-646-4757) for service.

Error Code: E6

RFID Error

How to fix this error:

  • Press STOP/RESET. Wait for a RDY display. Operate the machine normally.
  • Firmly push on the end of the film roll to make sure it is fully inserted onto the roll holder. Press STOP/RESET. Wait for a RDY display. Operate the machine normally.
  • Rotate the roll of film by hand 90 degrees in either direction. Press STOP/RESET. Wait for a RDY display. Operate the machine normally. Repeat 2 or 3 times.
  • Load a different roll of film. Press STOP/RESET. Wait for the RDY display. Operate the machine normally.
  • If the problem persists, please call 1-888-MINIPKR (1-888-646-4757) for service.

E6 errors are caused when the machine can not read the embedded chip that is in the roll of film (RFID Tag). The most likely cause is the chip in the roll of film, try a different roll of film first. The second most likely cause is the RFID tag is in a blind spot on the Mandrel (The gray round thing you put the film on) so manually rotating the film either way should move you out of the blind spot – you will know the machine is reading the RFID tag if the numbers on the display pop up and start to count up – after trying these steps, if the problem persists call 1-888-646-4757 and one of our MINI PAK'R trained technical support specialist will help you fix the machine or arrange to have the machine returned to our repair facility for repair.

Error Code: E7

Software Update Required

How to fix this error:

  • E7 error on the V1 machine only on V1 with a program 12 and below, this requires a program update, it has to do with the RFID tag when the machine gets to the end of the roll. It will show an E7 so you cannot use the RFID tag with any other rolls.
  • Please call 1-888-646-4757 and one of our MINI PAK'R trained technical support specialist will help you fix the machine or arrange to have the machine returned to our repair facility for repair.

Air Transfer Technology

What Air Transfer Technology looks like in an Air Cushion

What is the Size of the MINI PAK'R?

It is 14 inches / 36 cm long; 13 inches / 33 cm wide; and, 11 inches / 28 cm high. The MINI PAK’R® machine weighs 13 pounds / 6 kg, without film.

Here is a visual of the MINI PAK'R machine next to a Ball Jar.

Is It Possible To Make Specific Cushion Lengths?

Yes. The keypad provides a simple “+” or “-” adjustment that will increase the length of cushions up to 99 linear feet.

How Many Air Cushion Configurations Does the MINI PAK'R make (inflate)?

The MINI PAK'R® machine makes seven different cushions.

One Machine, 11 films.

See our different film configurations here: FILMS

Speed - How Fast Does The MINI PAK'R Dispense Air Cushions?

The machine dispenses film at speeds up to 25 feet/7.6 meters per minute.

How Does The MINI PAK'R Inflate Film To Make Air Cushions?

This “smart” machine “reads” an RFID tag on the film core and automatically sets the rate of air fill and the sealing temperature. The machine contains a small electric air blower that receives predetermined inflation and sealing instructions from the RFID label.

Can I Use Another Brand Of Film With The MINI PAK'R?

No. The MINI PAK’R® machine is meant to be used with only with MINI PAK'R® film products.

Can I Adjust The Seal Temperature Of The Cushions?

Yes. The key pad allows for a slight seal temperature adjustment – up or down. This is normally unnecessary since the machine automatically sets the seal temperature and seals the film.

Why Can't I Thread The Film Onto The Air Tube When Loading A New Roll Of Film?

How to fix this error:

Make sure that the roll is not loaded backwards. The film should unwind off the top of the roll. Correct by turning the film roll so that film unwinds off top of roll toward operator.

Unwind at least 18″ of film off the roll before trying to thread it through the air tube.

Pull the film as far down the air tube as possible. Press and HOLD the START button. The drive motor will advance until the button is released. Continue to pull the film until it emerges from the front of the machine. Release the START button.

Turn off the machine and remove the power. Open the top cover (a screwdriver is required). Look into the machine for a film jam on the air tube around the seal bar or the slitter blade. If small amount of film is jammed on the air tube, use the eraser end of a long pencil to push the film up or down the air tube until it is completely out of the machine. Close the cover. Restore the power and turn the machine on. Load the film normally.

The slitter blade is dull or broken. Replace the blade per the instructions in the User Manual.

The heater bar is in the UP position. Turn the machine off and back on again to reset the heater assembly to the DOWN position.

Why Won't The MINI PAK'R Machine Power Up?
  • Are you sure that power is available in the power outlet?
  • Is the power cord plugged into the power outlet?
  • Is the power cord plugged into the back of the machine?
  • Is the switch on the machine turned to ON (I)?
Can I Adjust The Air Fill Of The Cushions?

Yes. The key pad allows for a slight air fill adjustment – up or down. However, this is normally unnecessary since the machine automatically fills and seals the film.

Why Do The Cushions Fill With Air, Yet Go Flat Within A Few Minutes?

How to fix this error:

The seal temperature is too low (very faint or light seal created). Increase the seal temperature by 5 points (degrees) at a time up to a maximum of +15 points.

The seal temperature is too high (very wide seals with many holes created). Decrease the seal temperature by 5 points (degrees) at a time down to a minimum of -15 points.

Air fill is too high. Decrease the air volume by 5 points (5 percent) down to a maximum of 20 points.

Why Does The Air Tube Poke Through The Film While The Machine Is Running?

How to fix this error:

The roll is not properly mounted on the roll holder.

  • Firmly push on the end of the film roll to make sure it is fully inserted onto the roll holder.
  • Press STOP/RESET.
  • Wait for a RDY display.
  • Operate the machine normally.
Why Does The Perforations Tear Apart While Running Through The Machine?

How to fix this error:

The roll is not properly mounted on the roll holder.

  • Firmly push on the end of the film roll to make sure it is fully inserted onto the roll holder.
  • Press STOP/RESET.
  • Wait for a RDY display.
  • Operate the machine normally.
